The book is okay. The end saved it for me, but there is a lot of weird inappropriateness about it.
A lot of the early part of the book involved the VP doing sexually suggestive things to Robert at work, including an early offer of a job working directly with him. I wonder if the author knows that same sex sexual harassment is still sexual harassment.
It also had the boss having sex with Robert at his home while 2 small children were in attendance, one a girl of 12. They didn't even really know each other, had not dated, and had not really had a conversation. Irresponsible sex behavior and irresponsible parent behavior.
All that was a little unpalatable. Further, you don't get a sense why the boss, Ethan, is pursuing Robert at all. You don't get an insight into Ethan's thoughts or desires. He's not really a well written character.
The ending was sweet. I give an extra star for that.
this book didn't really have a lot of believability or background or structure with the VP but i didn't feel robbed of my time it took to read it.
Lynn Hagen's writing style is smooth and engaging. Her characters are believable and endearing. Interpersonal dynamics and social issues are treated realistically. It's a really enjoyable read.
love the series, and the story line, the characters are deeply thoughtout and well rounded, it's definately something i would like to see more of, if i had one complaint is that gay romances, have very short story lines, i would definately like to see thicker books.
I gave it 4 stars because it was a good book but I swear I read it at least a dozen times by a dozen different writers it's a nice story it's just boring and common I don't know why I thought it was gonna be different.
I really love this book. Gay guy fall for a straight (maybe) guy. Ethan comes on strong to Robert but that what he needs at the time. Robert so bog down with everyday life that he needs a strong person to help him. I love the interaction between these two. Great read!!!
